Psychological Concept Project
As part of their PSY-150 course this semester, students will complete one Psychological Concept Project (in lieu of a traditional Midterm Exam). When completing the project, students will choose a topic/concept from the appropriate chapters and the option for how they want to present the information.
Project Option 1: Thinking and Feeling: For this project, students will present information on ONE topic from textbook chapters 4, 6, 7, 8, or 10. Students are free to choose any concept/topic that is covered in the textbook.
Project Option 2: What is “Normal”?: For this project, students will present information on ONE topic from textbook chapters 12, 13, 14, or 16. Students are free to choose any concept/topic that is covered in the textbook.
Students have the freedom to choose from the following options when completing each project:
3. Write an original story
3. Original Story: Everyone loves a good story! How can you incorporate the topic of your choice into a good story? Students should frame the information into a quality story. Your characters do not have to be people. You may write a romance, fable, adventure, a how-to, or whatever you like. The possibilities are endless! Be creative! Students should not merely rattle off facts and data. Use vivid language, dialogue, imagery, etc. Remember, a good story has a beginning, middle, and end. *NOTE: You will submit your story in written form. Students should not submit a voice recording verbally telling a story.
a. TIPS: Students who choose this option may decide to incorporate more than one concept into their story to make it more interesting and to show greater understanding of a topic.
